Heavy rain triggered landslides in North Korea last week that killed 10 people, injured 55 and destroyed 109 buildings in Uiju, North Pyongan Province, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said. Four people are missing.
Eight railroads, 10 roads and two bridges were washed away or collapsed, it said.
"Torrential rain pounded North Pyongan Province over the weekend, triggering landslides that left significant damage to residents and properties in the area," the KCNA said. "The government is making plans to deal with the situation properly."
