Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants has now hit safely in seven straight games.

The Korean rookie stretched his hitting streak with a two-hit effort against the Miami Marlins at loanDepot park in Miami on Monday (local time). Lee batted 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run and a walk, raising his batting average to .258 in the process and helping the Giants win 4-3.

Lee wasted no time extending his streak, as he led off the game with a single off starter Edward Cabrera in the first inning. Lee, though, was caught stealing second base.

Lee drew a walk and later scored on Michael Conforto's single to cut the Giants' deficit to 3-1 in the fourth inning.

After flying out in the fifth, Lee drove in the game-tying run with a single during the three-run seventh inning.

With runners at first and second, Lee went opposite field for a single off reliever Andrew Nardi, and Mike Yastrzemski scored from second to make it a 3-3 game en route to the Giants' one-run victory.

Lee struck out looking against Bryan Hoeing in his final plate appearance in the ninth.

The one other Korean player in the majors this year, Kim Ha-seong of the San Diego Padres, also had a productive day at the plate Monday.

He batted 1-for-3 and drew two walks, while also driving in a run and scoring a run in the Padres' 7-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field in Milwaukee. Kim is now batting .221 and has a .333 on-base percentage.

Kim got his only hit with a single off starter Joe Ross in the second inning, and picked up an RBI with a groundout in the fourth to put the Padres on the board after the Brewers had taken a 3-1 lead.

Then during the six-run fifth, Ki drew a walk to load the bases, and later scored on Luis Campusano's single for a 7-3 Padres lead.

Kim worked out a walk against new pitcher Thyago Vieira in the seventh, and hit into a fielder's choice groundout in the ninth.

Kim has now had six walks over his past two games, matching the total from his previous 17 games. He leads the Padres with those dozen free passes. (Yonhap)
