Korean and Japanese business leaders plan to hold their annual bilateral conference in Tokyo next month, industry officials said Tuesday.

The 56th Korea-Japan Business Conference, co-hosted by the industry ministry and the Korea-Japan Economic Association, is scheduled to be held in Tokyo from May 13-16. Last year's meeting was held in Seoul.

Around 300 business leaders from both countries, including Chey Tae-won, SK Group chairman and head of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mikio Sasaki, chief of the Japan-Korea Economic Association, plan to attend the gathering.

Former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga also plans to deliver a message at the event.

According to officials, discussions will focus on promoting economic exchange between Korea and Japan, including enhancing trade, investment and industrial technology cooperation. (Yonhap)
